I can't find really any SSD THUNDERBOLT 2 external hard drives, most are just thunderbolt 1 or 3 (USB-c)

Looking to work off a 1tb SSD thunderbolt 2 drive and have if daisy chained to my gtechnology studio 5 bay for backups.

For an enclosure that will house only ONE drive, thunderbolt offers no real advantages.

You'd do just as well with a USB3 drive for backups...

correct. with one drive, even SSD, you wouldn't even saturate TB 1 bandwidth.

So what do you all recommend that I use to do video editing off of and that can be backed up to my 4 bay gtech studio? I thought I should find a thunderbolt connection one so I can daisy chain them and it would be easier for backups?

Any fast external hard drives you can recommend? I am using the 5k 2015 iMac edition.
