The only thing about the first one is it looks a bit like you just stuck with the default theme. It's miles ahead of the second one, but it's a bit bland.

Yeah it does look like the defualt theme, color wise.

I'd probably vote for the darker one, if brown wasn't the second color. I like dark themes if the color selection is one that I like (and brown isn't it for me)

Dark colors hurt my eyes, and everybody else's, for that matter.

Go for the gray; it's simple and straightforward.

First one, though I'd probably go for the second one if you scrapped the brown.

Also, use transparent background on the banner, no matter which theme you chhose.
