My needs: Web Browsing + Music + Counter Strike:Source (when steam release)

1) Can a 13" inch fulfill my needs ? I know it can do web browsing, how about CS:S ?

2) Can a 13" power up a 24" monitor ? Will they be any "Stress" for the computer ? Will I be experiencing lags due to the monitor ?

3) Actually I have the budget for 15" i7, but not sure if I really need it, a machine that is more "future proof", however, I feel like trying new technology.

What are you thoughts ?

Thank in advance.

If you intend on doing most of your work thru the external monitor the 13" will be great for you. However if you are going to be using the notebook by itself a lot, stick with a 15" at the very least. You will appreciate the extra screen real estate. My last MBP was a 13" and I hardly ever used it on an external monitor. Everything was so crammed together on the screen.

No machine is "future proof."

If the 13" came with a i5 I'd say go for it. It doesn't. So, personally, I'd go with the power of a i5 or i7. As such, you need to go with a 15" or 17". No, you're really not trying new technology. So, I wouldn't factor that into your decision-making.

I bought the base 15" model as well (2.4 GHz i5) and spent the saved $$$
for the Intel G2 Postville 160 GB SSD. Makes this thing fly.

Thanks for all the reply people.

However, my main concern for 13" is, will it "suffer" when outputing to a 24" /22 " ? will it be able to power it up nicely ?

What will you be doing on this external monitor?

it will be basically doing the same thing too, I have 2 tables far apart in the room.

so a MBP on one table, and an external monitor on the other.
