I wanted to have the surgeon's office put the post operative X-rays onto a DVD disc so that I can upload the X-rays onto my vintage MacBook Pro with its own optical drive. I've heard that there's different formats of DVD discs. Which is the correct disc for a vintage 2007 MacBook Pro?

Years ago DVD-R used to be much more reliable to write to on my Macs compared to DVD+R (using Toast). These days, using up-to-date Mac OS, I don't notice any difference at all.
