Which way of installation is better ?

Upgrading ML over Lion is better or doing a clean install ?
By clean install I don't mean reinstalling Lion and then upgrading but wiping off my entire HD including Recovery partition and then performing a fresh install.

I tried downloading Lion every possible way and yet failed. So I don't care about the recovery partition and want to get rid off Lion completely. . .

Suggestions please ?

If you had a problem downloading and installing Lion, you're probably gonna have problems with ML as well. If you can't download Lion, how you gonna download ML?

You should try to fix your problem first.
