One is a single 2TB disk, the other, and more expensive unit, is a stripe set (RAID 0) of a pair of 1TB drives.

The stripe set is theoretically faster, but won't get near what it's capable of over FW800 (100MB/s). Please note that a stripe set is less reliable than a single disk.

At those prices, the drives are most likely Caviar Greens inside (~77MB/s per drive), and aren't the fastest drives anyway, but the stripe set would still be able to exceed the available bandwidth of the FW800 interface (n disks * single disk performance = ~154MB/s in this case, as n = 2).

BTW, what are you planning to do with which ever unit you get?
