Well I've completely redesigned my website, and I personally like it much better. However some people that I've showed have liked the older version better. So, which one do you like better and why? The screenshots with the gradient background with my logo in the top left hand corner are the screenshots from the new version.

Thanks.

You did well

Definitely the latter website is better. It's classier, more modern and the photos pop. The old website was a little too staid. Grey matte a little too boring in my opinion. If you are trying to appeal to the under 50 set, your new site is much better. If going for the over 60 set the old one works better [but then again, they probably are looking in the yellow pages and not online] :D

So those of us in our 50's aren't supposed to like either one?

Seriously, what does age have to do with anything?

To the question, I find the new site more pleasing.

No, your logic is flawed, my original comment actually implied that those in their 50's may like either.

Seriously, in marketing demographics is everything. [in REAL LIFE, not so much ;)]

Those look too iWebbie for me.

If I was to pick one i'd go for the previous design.
But... I would say what would work best overall is the previous design with a bit of a clean up – using some of the colours of the new one but maintaing the same layout. It does look a tiny bit dated and could do with a bit of a freshen up.
