Which would be cheaper?

I'm on a family plan on T-Mobile but I want my own line to myself to get an iPhone. I'm end up getting a change of responsibility. Which would be cheaper:

1. Getting an iPhone using the "new" plans at the store with little or no credit but I'm getting different answers to how much will I have to pay upfront

2. Getting a pre-paid plan and just buy an iPhone from eBay/Craiglist but I want to be able to use 4G as well

Obviously CL would be cheaper if all goes well.

If you get the $30 plan, it'll be way cheaper. On a rough calculation, you'll pay off the difference on about 6 or 7 months
