I got it through a MS promotion at http://www.powertogether.com/ You needed to watch 3 demos of the "Power of Vista".
Meh. All I did was let the webinar run in the background with the audio off on my computer. That being said I won't load this thing until there is solid support in bootcamp on my MacBook Pro or until I build a new Core 2 Duo Extreme desktop this summer. Whichever comes first. Desktop probably won't go Vista ever since the release Candidates that I tried had a MASSIVE headache with bittorrent. I foresee Vista sitting on the shelf collecting dust for a while though.

Anyone else get in on this offer? I know that it was widely publicized a few months back and they handed out something like 30,000 I think. Love or hate Windows *shrugs* You can't beat free.

PS- I've earned it huh. Why do I get this image of wallowing through a swage pipe like in Shawshank redemption? :p

Oh man... its over? I really needed windows too... I just lost my activation code and I am screwed... That's what I get for moving to college and throwing some things away... That would have been the perfect solution to play games... Other wise I'm stuck buying XP...

you could always just sell your copy......and use the money for leopard

Actually, MS is most likely providing you with a NFR "Not For Resale" copy. If you try to sell this on ebay, forums, etc. MS will be on you like white on rice.

By the way, through the same program I am receiving a copy of Office 2007. I had signed up for Vista, but ended up with this. I wonder what happened?
