Hope this is the right place to post my query ... anyway ...
I am attempting to upgrade my G4 iMac from 10.2.8 to 10.4 Tiger.
What is happening is the installer quits before completing installation and says an error occurred and to try again. I tried twice then attempted a 'repair disk' and got this ...
This volume Macintosh HD could not be repaired.
Error: the underlying task reported failure on exit.
1 HFS volume checked.
1 volume could not be repaired because of an error.
Repair attempted on 1 volume.
1 volume could not be repaired.
-----------------
So does this mean I will have to do the 'Erase and Install' option? I will have to back up all my documents, etc. before doing this and not looking forward reinstalling everything.
Thanks for any advice.
