The app on the Apple TV (4K) is up to date and audio plays in every other app, just not while watching asking TV.....

While watching Sling TV on 4K TV AirPlay2 stops working.

Sling does not work with Airplay on the Apple TV. You are correct that other apps like Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime work just fine with Airplay. I also cannot get Sling to work on my iPad when hooked up to my video projector. It does not allow mirroring.
This has been a known issue for at least a couple of years. I called Sling and "this is the first we have heard about this"..... and offered no workarounds.
IF anyone has any solutions, please pass them along.

I’m not even mirroring it. I’m playing sling from the Apple TV sling app. And air playing the audio.
it worked with airplay1, but not airplay2
