is wrong, it's falling for the android trick if you will on what retina really is. Retina is so much more than just PPI, it's software DPI married with PPI. It's why Apple quadruples the number of pixels but leaves the resolution low. Just because mini has a higher PPI, doesn't make it better in any way than an ipad 2, instead in many circumstances, it's actually worse.

I think apple has a little pickle on their hand, it's great that the resolution is standard old ipad for better app compatibility, but i wonder if they'll eventually have to tailor the OS to fit the screen.
