I have a 20" iMac G4, and when it is sleeping or completely off (still plugged in) I can hear a very quiet but audible whining coming from the half sphere base. It isn't something I can hear across the room, but if I put my ear up to the base it is pretty easy to hear. It does not have any other issues. Is this quiet whining normal? Thanks!

That would be the power supply. Quite normal, as long as it doesn't get really loud and blow out blue smoke.

Glad to hear it doesn't mean anything, thanks for your help!
