Every so often (but now with increasing frequency) I hear this noise (attached as video sorry- I couldn't get sound file to attach) whenever my Mac is in use. It's a whirring noise which lasts around one second and repeats every 5 seconds.
It starts as soon as I open the Mac, so I don't think it is associated with overheating, although my mac does get very hot occasionally even with the fan working at what seems full capacity.
Is this noise something to worry about? My Mac is old and I've been considering upgrading, but I don't really want to right now if I can avoid it. It seems to work well otherwise.
Thanks for any advice!
