I want to sell my 3G to upgrade. It has several hairline cracks. Where can I buy a new case for it? I see nearly all the parts except the case at iFixIt.com. Where do I find an original replacement?

depending where it is. Apple have a guideline as to which cracks they replace. They repaired my crack which was near the silent switch

Can I just pay to get a new one and do it myself? I really hate going to the Apple store for service like this. Every time I go, I wish I never stepped foot in there, and I wish I didn't have to ask for help. I hate those asses acting like they're the crap, better than me, and I am trying to rip them off. Would rather just pay for it to be honest. But if there is nowhere to get it, I guess I will have to go there and get it done, again!

I know that the Apple Store, when not just browsing, can be a pain in the butt, but take advantage of the fact that Apple will replace it for free. I know they can be butts, but as long as they do their job, you should really try and go that route. And if they give you attitude, you can always talk to their superior. That always makes their hairs stand on end. :)
