For some reason, when burning a DVD movie from a .mov file using Toast 6 for Mac, I get white artifacts on the video after burned. Seems to open show up in areas that are black. Was going to upgrade my Toast version, as I assume the encoding isn't doing a good job, but any other thoughts on why this would be happening?

It's just possible that the keyframe setting is off (if such a thing is relevant to what you're doing). If you have set a keyframe parameter, choose 'every nth frame' rather than 'automatic'. I suspect this is not your problem but still, poke around.
