Went out this morning around the neighborhood and shot some outdoor videos with my Canon ZR960. Just getting familiar with all the features and fucntions, particularly the "white balance" adjusments. I'm comparing auto mode to preset modes. Which settings seem best to you?

I didn't watch the whole thing but I was partial to the daylight setting given the monitor I'm watching it on.

It had a cooler image quality did it? Meaning, it had more of a blueish tint to the video.

I also did a indoor night video with white balance correction. What do you think of that one?

In the first video the day light mode did appear to have a little bit of a blue tint to it, but not enough to make me like the 'auto' mode better. I really didn't notice the blue all that much until you panned across the back of the stop sign and instead of seeing straight silverish color it had some blue tint.

I like the custom white balance on the 2nd clip a lot more than the 'auto' mode. It doesn't have the yellow / orange tint from the tungsten light in the auto mode.

Hope that helps.
