I've had this before with prior OS releases, but just ran across it with iOS5. White Cydia icon and program crashes when you run it.

Anyone run across this with iOS5 JB?

Sounds like you're trying to run your tethered jailbreak without tethering to your computer.

You have to use redsn0w to boot your phone. Your Cydia icon should appear normally after that.

...no, I'm teathering. Ran the JB twice and Cydia's still white...

No biggie, probably shouldn't be JBing an iOS Beta in the first place....:

after you install cydia by checking 'install cydia' in redsn0w...

you have to uncheck 'install cydia' and only check 'boot in tethered'

it'll work.

in the new redsn0w.. extras->boot tethered. theres no option to uncheck cydia..

and moreover, on booting tethered, my phone gets stuck on the pineapple screen (although redsn0w says the process is done).. and so eventually, once i force reboot my phone, im still stuck with a white cydia.. plz help...
