Just noticed this today. A tiny white dot in the center on the display towards the bottom. Can only see it on light backgrounds. I did the new beta 7 update and can still see it so i think it may be a hardware issue.

I tried taking a photo but it's very hard to see on camera. Try to look closely.

Any idea what it could be ?

Thank you.

Display’s backlight. Either liquid or drop damage. It won’t go away ever only with a display swap.

Had this on my 6s. It was coming up for 12 months old. Took it to store and they replaced the screen under warranty!

Could be pressure on the screen from some component behind it. Get a similar mark on my brand new ipad pro screen when i touch certain areas of the lower half of the screen.

Hey I had the same thing on my 8 Plus! I had the battery replaced at Apple and maybe I never noticed it before but I noticed that white dot except it was more to the right.

In dark colors or colors in general its not that obvious but in white it definitely is. I got over it eventually.

Yup i had the exact same thing on my week old 12.9 ipad pro 12.9 (2018). It was about the size of a dime. It was handled with extreme care so i don't think it's caused by dropping.

Is it only when your touch it or does it still show a white dot when you remove your finger ?

Grabbed a new one .. notice the light leaking from the frame.

Highly doubt that from a drop. That seems more like from a ‘hot’/stuck pixel.
It can happen when the device gets dropped and the display gets slammed on a component and from the focused pressure the backlight layer gets distorted as it is an assembly of thin sheets of plastic. The plastic no longer disperses light evenly across the display and the white mark appears as shown above.

By the way those recent pictures are weird, seems like an assembly flaw and it could cause the white mark too.

Had the same spot on a new ipad pro 12.9 but it was the size of a dime.
