White iPhone - cant move icons left

My girlfriend just got the brand new white iPhone last night. We ran the update 4.3.3 (8J2) and loaded all her apps and email on the phone. We not noticed that you can move any app you'd like to a higher page (pages to the right) but you can not move any apps to any pages going left. Both her and i have tried when you get the icon to the left side of the screen which should allow you to move the apps to a prior screen it jumps back to its place on the page you are currently on. However you can move the apps to any screen going in the right -> direction....

Any ideas?

Is the left side of the screen only inactive when you try to move apps or when you use the phone in general. I had a friend who bought an iPhone a couple of weeks ago and the bottom of the screen was faulty. Not software related at all. Took it back to the Verizon store and they replaced it and his new iPhone works fine.
