If you have a white iphone 3g from telstra (im not sure about the other carriers) and it has hairline fractures around bits on the white casing, you may want to take it in to telstra and they will replace it under warranty for a brand new one (assuming the cracks are bad enough). im not sure if optus, vodafone, and virgin have the same procedures but it is more than likely that they do so give it a shot too..
I started noticing the cracks about a month ago and they were pretty severe so i took it in to telstra and they took it out the back quickly and looked at photographs of similar cracks which they use as a guide to confirm as to wether a certain customers phone is badly enough cracked. So they sent it away and 3 days later i had a new phone waiting for me.
Just letting you know as some of you (like me) like to take advantage of getting new stuff.
P.S. Sorry for my terrible grammar.
