White Line in MBP

Hey Folks,

I have a MBP and last night a solid white line went from the top of my screen down to the bottom. As it was traveling down the screen on the other side of the line faded into a shadow.

One it got tothe bottom of the screen the machine asked me to restart the machine.
Anybody knows what happened?
