White MacBook 13.3 inch model - RAM

Hi everybody! I am new to MACs so I have a doubt regarding the white MacBook 13.3 inch ( not the pro model - it is too expensive for me). I know in the tech specs it says that it only supports up to 4GB of RAM. My doubt is if that is really true. I have heard that it can support up to 8GB of RAM just like the MacBook Pro. Sorry if the question is silly, but I really want to be sure before buying; I used a friend's IMac and fell in love with MACs

It officially supports only 4GB but OWC has tested and also sells 8GB for current MacBook (link) so unofficially 8GB works fine
