Hey guys!

I have a Macbook 4,1 (white) and it has that infamous crack on the lower right after the trackpad.

Here's an image:

Now yes, I know this has been posted many times before. However the only ones I could find are topics from 2007.

I'm wondering (I have genius bar appointment tomorrow) if Apple will fix this for free still (has their policy changed?)

I called up Apple, and they said it was on a "case-by-case" basis, but I'm anxious to find out...

Thanks!

yeah apple should fix it for free
when you go in don't make any excuses just show them only start whining if they say they won't do it for free

Once they replace the top case, get a ShaggyMac keyboard/screen protector and never close the laptop without it in place. You'll never have another problem.

My dad's black MacBook 2,1 has the same crack; do you think Apple would cover that too, or is it just for the 4's?
