I'm sorry but that's pretty ridiculous. I've never ever experienced a trackpad wearing out. How much does a person use one to wear it out? You would need sandpaper fingers to do that.
I apparently HAVE sandpaper fingers, every touchpad I used turned into some swishy, slimy, oily, perfectly smooth surface afeter a couple of years.
Same for keyboards, all my keyboards have lost half of their letters.
I have really abrasive sweat.
