hi all,

my white macbook's (late 2008) display suddenly became dim, i can't see anything on the screen but if i use a torch i can actually see my folders and desktop.

- i didn't drop it.
- brightness is set to maximum.
- i changed the inverter board.

unfortunately, no change.

not sure what else to do , any help ?

That sounds like a classic inverter problem. If you did that job properly, I guess it could also be the CCFL backlight in the display, more expensive if it's blown. Hard to test for other than swapping the display.

You could try an SMC reset, it might be a firmware problem. Long shot?
