Hi guys, I have a dilemma.
I'm wanting to put a 320 GB into my MacBook. A friend of mine has done it with a 7200 rpm Western Digital Scorpio Black, 16 MB cache. It works great, but he can constantly feel the drive spinning underneath his left hand wrist rest (next to the track pad).
Now a 320 GB 5400 rpm Western Digital Scorpio Blue, 8 MB cache, is around £20 cheaper. Should I get this in order to minimise the potential annoyance of feeling the drive spinning underneath my left wrist? Would there be a noticeable difference (boot time, program load up etc) with the slower spin rate and half the cache?
Thanks in advance.
