White MacBook left side screws

I have a spare excellent condition white macbook 1.83ghz model for a side machine around the house.

So the screws next to the I/O port just seemed to fall out for no apparent reason today.

no pressure was put on the system, the screws arent stripped nor is there any wear within the screw holes.
i figured they were out id take off the top case to investigate and doesnt even seem like there is anything inside the enlcosure to keep the screws in place.

is there a way to remedy this?

Wasn't it concluded that these screws were cosmetic? Can anyone else confirm?

yes the white macbook has cosmetic screws, as silly as it seems...

The 2 screws screw into a long thin strip of metal which has been tapped at each end to hold the screws in place. The metal plate is held in place by double-sided tape.

If the screws have come out then the metal plate has broken near the ends or fallen off and dropped into the gap between the back of the battery connector and the case............
