OK, here's a really stoopid question, but I'm a total novice and NOT tech savvy at all, so bear with me. Why does my 13" white macbook make a funny whirring noise sometime? It happens when I'm viewing video clips. I've only had it a couple of months. I don't know anything the inner workings of laptops. Is there something wrong with it, or is this normal?
 
That's the fan kicking in to keep the computer cool. Videos and other processor intensive processes will cause that. It's normal. If you open Activity Monitor and sort by CPU usage you'll generally find an app using a high percentage when the fan is on.
