I am wondering which is good to purchase.
As white macbook with ipod touch rebates while mac mini dun not have it.

For the monitor, I have a 17' unused mon.

Can u hys give me some advice?

Well, do you want/need the portability of the Macbook? If you can afford the extra of a Macbook, I would get it instead, like you say, you get the free iPod which you can use or sell, and you get a choice of clamshell mode or portable.

you can always use the 17 inch screen you have for the macbook and dont forget they've been recently bumped up!

As others have stated, a MacBook for its portability.

However, if you're wanting/needing something like a small home (media) server, then I would go with the Mini.

thanks all guys comment
as my concern is white book seems to be too old.

How is the performance for the white book compared with the mac mini( the cheapest)?

Go with the Mini. Save your money if that is all that you will be using it for. You can also use the Mini as a media center for your tv. Good luck!

what does this mean?>

It means you can hook the mini up to your tv, and use it to play dvd's, your music collection, and itunes content on it, get a bluetooth keyboard and mouse and browse the net on a big screen, or put all of your favorite movies on an external hard drive and play them whenever you want. The mini is also small and low temped enough to stick it in a enclosed, out of the way place.

I was going to pull the trigger soon on a mini for my business and then of course see the recent bump on the white macbook specs.

I am going to still go with the mini as I need to replace my ailing Dell (only 1.5 yrs old), but I also have a dual monitor setup that I would like to use and a sweet Logitech mouse. I would need the apple keyboard (could survive without it), and the cables for my monitors. I'll bump the RAM and HD. I already have an external FW macally enclosure with a 1TB drive, so I could even hold off on the HD upgrade, but will probably go for it so I don't have to worry about any data and apps that I've already loaded.

So, Still coming in quite a bit under a macbook setup.

I have a MSI wind that is extremely portable, so it is hard to justify getting the macbook right now, but it would be nice to have a little extra screen real estate (just a small bump is enough) as I do get a little loopy when I am looking at this thing for an extended amount of time, but dang this thing is mobile and really peppy with Win 7.

I will probably end up getting them both (macbook a little later) and buy refurb to save additional cash. At this price point you could have two really decent machines with apple care (third party purchase) for well under two grand. Makes "business cents" to me.

thanks all

Finally purchase new 13 inch macbook pro. for my sister
