Well it came and I have it installed. I got a Kingston 64GB V100 drive which had the 2.5" external caddy so I can use my current 250GB to store my media.
So far I have done a fresh install of 10.6.3 and updated to 10.6.7. I have just successfully used the TRIM Enabler to enable TRIM support on this drive, which will be fine until Lion gets released.
I have noticed a world of difference. Boot times are down to seconds, app loading is instantaneous and the machine just feels smoother (though the fresh install will have helped).
I am currently in the process of installing all updated then installing my apps like iLife and Dreamweaver CS5.
Edit:
With all my apps installed and system fully updated, it takes 23 seconds to a fully loaded desktop from the chime. I still have about 49GB free, my music, pictures and video are going on the external. This is the best update ive ever done
