I just got my new Macbook 3 weeks ago a refurbished one will the operating temps be about the same as the iMac. The Macbook temp just surfing the net is about 120 degrees then when doing video runs about 135 to 140 degrees is this normal. One other thing is my battier says 98 percent charged when plugged in should it not be 100 percent charged plug in. This macbook is just so cool.

is that 120 degrees fahrenheit or celsius ?

My white 2.4 from about 8 months ago is currently running at 52degrees fahrenheit.. So 120 degrees if thats fahrenheit is going to be abnormal

Your temperatures are fine. Batteries have a trickle charge and if it's constantly plugged in, you will see a fluctuation. Do a PMU reset if you think it's an issue...

Mine runs at about 115˚f normally and goes up to around 125˚f when watching You Tube videos; it can get to about 160˚f before I start to think I need to let it cool down.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that your charger won't kick in until you battery goes down to 95%; if it bothers you just let you battery drain to that or below and it should start charging. Remember to maintain your battery for maximum life.
