Personally for me I chose the Black Nexus 5 because it looks classy and business like.

Just so everyone knows the Nexus 5 White has a white ear phone piece at the top.

There is no such thing as a white Nexus phone.

There's only a black Nexus phone with a white backplate.

Actually, early reports say the backplate is quite secure. Some even go as far as saying "it [The backplate and sides] feels like a single piece"

However, if it turns out to be possible, I will make myself some custom back plates.

I went with white because it was a little bit different. The Nexus logo also stands out a bit more to me
 
I went with white but then again it doesn't matter because I usually buy different color dbrands to switch it up every few months.
 
I'd go black for the texture of the back. Same reason I chose black note 3 over the white even though I normally prefer white devices.
 
I ordered the black one. If the "white" was front and back I'd have considered that one, but just not a fan of the half and half look.
 
I went white... just because my phones have always been all black. I wanted to try it out, and if I don't like it, it'll be in a case anyway. :)
 
Black.

Didn't like the white earpiece on the front and the black frame around the camera on the back of the white model.

Also heard the sides of the phone on the black model have a matte finish while the sides of the white version have a smooth shiny finish.
 
I think black looks better on this phone.

Not only because the camera looks odd on the white, but I also feel like a white soft touch back might stain/scratch easily and get dirty. I would use a case anyway but for those that don't..

I'm really interested in this phone though, I wish verizon carried it. I would go from my 5S to a Nexus phone in the future.

Considering how the white is done I don't think it really matters.

Doubly so if you use a case
 
White backplate with black front is terrible in my opinion. Maybe with a white front, but otherwise... Black for sure
 
White for me, it just looks really nice. Although I wish it could be all white like the Moto X
 
I like the white one myself, I find the fact it is two toned a plus.
