I have a black one. I don't know if this means anything (as far as overall popularity), but when I was on the hunt for my iPad, the stores would always have white ones in stock but rarely black ones.

White! But that's because the Target where I got mine always carries more white than black.

Black, people have gotten used to it.

The white one and the mystique surrounding the white iPhone 4 finally wore down on people's patience.

Popular color

I don't have the statistics to prove it but my guess would be that the Black model would be the more popular model. Myself I got the white model since I like it better than the Black one.

I got white, I wanted black originally but I could get a white one the day after launch... Black I would have had to wait for the online orders to start shipping (Australia). It's rather grown on me though, at least it matches the white charger and cable.

Black. Less distracting.

Not true. It's only distracting if you want it to be distracting ie: you're looking for it. I find that the only time I notice the white bezel is when I'm admiring how freaking awesome it looks.

By the way, for those with a white iPad- lay it down face-up on a piece of white computer paper. You will have a new found perspective of how thin and sexy it really is.

The white is selling MUCH better than the black, according to an Apple Store friend. Apple is also making more white iPads than black.

I just bought a white one. Personally, I think both colors work fine, but to answer your question, I think the black is more popular. They're sold out everywhere, but I was able to find a shipment of white ones that were selling (slightly) slower.

Black is beautiful ... for me ... so my iPad2 followed the path given by the iPad1 and iMac27" and iP4 ... all back around the screen ...

no place for a white sheep
