I'm thinking about purchasing a white rebel serpent from mygearstore for the iphone 3g s I should be receiving on the 19th.

I do not plan on removing the case often if at all, unless it is necessary, so I don't believe the droopy bottom will be an issue for me.

I want to pull the trigger on this one tonight, but I wanted some opinions first.

I know there's a rebel case thread, but I just I wanted to make a new thread in case there's a large number of you guys who feel there's a better case out there. I am open to any and all ideas and posting links or better yet, pics is very welcome.

the rebel is the ugliest case ever made dont do it

I like the look of the case myself.

Your response lacked constructive criticism and a better alternative. At least name a better case if you think this one is so ugly.

A lot of people like the zagg. I might order one, not entirely sure yet, although its been on my mind.

I like the element cases as well, but the cost is way too high and I don't think I'd mind the added bulk.

If the phone is strong enough, I'd just go naked w/ a zagg, but I have dropped my current phone a few times and I know the iphone would have been broken. That's the only thing that worries me.

No one else cares to comment?

I bought one but haven't used it. Once I managed to put it on, I thought it made the phone too bulky. (Had a heck of a time taking it off too.) I ended up using the white Speck Candyshell instead, and just recently got a metallic red Incase Slider.

After all, I decided that I liked the Incase Slider more than the others. It keeps the button naked, instead of covering them and making them harder to control. And it keeps the slim form of the phone. It fits better in my purse pocket with the Slider too.

And yet... I reserve the right to change my mind again at some time in the future. :)

I actually was looking at the sliders before. Thickness is not an issue for me. I'd even get the slider w/ the battery in it, thats how much I don't care. I have big hands and stuff that's too tiny for me is a pain. That said, thin is nice too, lol.

I agree that having naked buttons is nicer. Many people have said the candy shell buttons are more rigid and you don't have that tactile feel of pressing in a button like the slider would give.

Its hard to decide.

hybrid cases (that combine soft and hard pieces) have much more shock absorbing over the hard shells or only silicon.

i have 2 problems with the rebels:

1. the saggy bottom issue, but it can be fixed and most of the problems cause with the black silicon.

2. the plastic piece scratched really fast but the texture of the serpent hide that a liitle.

I have had my black rebel serpent for over 4 months and I have not noticed any scratching. The bottom is easily fixed and with the dock protector in, it isn't even droopy.

I have the white rebel serpent, as well at the rebel clear one (I think its called the arctic). I LOVE them. would accept no substitute. They are the best at protecting your phone. They cover your buttons, they come with 2 great screen protectors, and have a little dock protector thingy too.
Some people say they are too bulky, but really, we are talking they are thicker than other cases by micro millimeters, and if it protects my phone better, then so be it.
They can get a droopy bottom, and my arctic one had that, I wrote and email complaining, and the guy sent me a new one ASAP. The white serpent has not had this problem. I found that if you just keep your case on, and not take it on and off a lot, this isn't an issue.
OVERALL, getting this case is a great investment. I highly recommend it.

I don't plan on rubbing my phone on rough surfaces constantly. I also have large hands, so this crap about a case being bigger doesn't apply. The iPhone itself feels about right in my hand and extra thickness wont' hurt. Its basically the size of my black jack 2 and I would hate to have a smaller phone.

I know there's a gallery of cases on this forum, buts lacking in the picture department.

If I didn't get a white serpent, what would be the next best thing, hypothitically?

I'm still really considering the rebel since it has 2 screen shields and everything else. Even if I eventually don't like the case, the amount of stuff it comes with is worth the cost just to try ti.

I like the rebel personally, and if you like the look of it go for it. If anything's wrong with it you can always contact them and they're fine about giving you a new one. I think they offer the best protection and worth for the amount of money, considering on top of an amazing case, you get TWO screen protectors (good ones at that), a microfiber, button covers, a squeegee, a dock adapter and a video stand.

After some thinking, I'm going to go with the white serpent. If I don't like it, I'll post back and let you guys know why.
