White screen??? Can't do anything. Can't shut off.

I plugged in my iphone and now I am stuck with a white screen. I can't turn off the phone or re-start it.

It is just showing a white screen that is lit. No buttons work and nothign else shows.

Have you tried pressing home + power for a few seconds to do a hard reset?

as above, push and hold both the top button and home button until the device resets... that's a get out of jail free card!
