I have a iMac (24-inch Mid 2007) that was working fine before I moved. It traveled from Yokosuka Japan to Okinawa Japan on a ship.

When I turn it on now I get a white screen with a folder that has a ? in it that flashes. Also I see a shadow on the bottom right forth of the screen. Maybe moisture or something due the the high humidity here in Okinawa? But its on the inside of the screen.

Since it is over 4 years old and not under warrenty what do you suggest I do? Open it up and see if its wet and attempt to dry it out?

The flashing question mark means it can't find a boot disk. Most likely your HD got damaged while you were moving. If you have an extrernal drive that you can boot from I'd try that just to make sure there isn't another problem, if it works fine then open it up and replace the HD.
