Hey guys I have some white smudges on my screen that appear the worst on a white screen and gets dimmer on dark screens. I have a Macbook Pro 2010 with the 1680x1050 High def display. I am needing to know if replacing the lcd will fix this or if it is something more major. All help is appreciated. Thanks guys and gals!

Those white spots are usually caused by pressure on the display. A new display should take care of the issue.

instead of massage, I pulled the screen with a Vacuum Suction Cup, low pressure, many times, SOLVED!!!

This is a very common problem for the non Retina Macbook Pros that were released between mid 2009 up to the current model. After a few years, this tends to happen and while a screen replacement will fix it, it will come back again. I had a 2009 model with this problem in 2011 and they replaced the screen under applecare and by late 2012 it was doing the same thing. There was no pressure on the screen as I had a protective case and was very careful with the mac.

I wouldn't spend money to repair a 6+ year old macbook pro
