Ah, the things we stress over.

After 4 weeks with both a blakc and white iPad in the home I reflect back at the silly discussion/threads that were going on about it. Everything from 'Movies will look better with a black background' to 'white is a chick's color'.

Movie are just as fine with a white background as they are my old pad's black black background. In fact, there is no difference regardless of any software I am using.

One man's opinion: it is purely an issue of aesthetics. It has no impact on the actual enjoyment of the experience. My light blue cover with a white pad looks great. That's good enough for me.

Things you stress over, not me. My source of stress comes from things that actually tend to matter in life. But that is just me and I don't own an iPad 2. This could be a reason why what I stress over seems so different.

Color does not usually dictate functionality. The bezel color is a preference, really.

Ok then!

Black one can't swim; white one can't jump.

I think the OP has a legit point to bring up. Not everyone has purchased an iPad 2 yet. So it may still be an issue for some.

I looked at the white version yesterday and I like it. I was originally in the black is best camp.

I think both colors look good. Need to decide which one I want but am thinking that availability issues will solve the problem for me.

It hasn't been a month.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one to notice this. While the OP did modify that to "four weeks", unless s/he got an iPad at least four days before launch, then it hasn't been four weeks, either. Maybe the OP bought that iPad that showed up on Craig's List in the Bay Area a few days before launch.... And here we all thought that was a scam...

iPad blacknwhite

The black iPads bezel seems to disappear when watching a movie. The white gives the feeling that the screen is slightly smaller. I do think they both are classy pieces of tech!!!

Wow dude- don't you have better things to worry about haha?

We've seen the debates but here's my 2 cents (or less):

The white bezel look so much better in person than still photos and isn't bright white. In fact under regular lighting conditions or even darker, it almost looks grey. It looks just like using my white iMac. The reason I think is the edge-to-edge glass. With black underneath, it reflects like a mirror. White apparently doesn't as much. The white actually reduces glare/reflection around the bezel and hides finger smudges, dust, etc. Just stuff I've noticed.
