Your girlfriends place
I made this color profile using the default Color Calibrator in OS X on expert mode. I think it's pretty good but my eyes are tired and I would love a second opinion. For some odd reason it kept the hardware ID of a ColorSync profile I was playing with before I made this one which was for a MBP panel... kind of annoying but anyhow... you'll need to deselect the checkbox in the display control panel.

Let me know!

I am also looking for a good one for the 9C5E screen. I am actually using the color profile from the first post of this thread and it looks pretty good.

EDIT: If you made this profile for a 1.8 gamma can you make one for 2.2 and upload it? Or, if this was a 2.2 can you make a 1.8 - Thanks!

I'll modify the gamma when I get home

Thank you. I really like the profile you provided, I just want to go for a "tad" darker... not much, a very small bit. Because Gmail and Google Reader (the blue-ness of these web apps) looks a bit light compared to the way they should be, so I'd like to try another one. Thanks.

I think you need to re-do it from scratch? I could never calibrate using the built-in tool. It always looked bad and very blue. What did you set the original gamma to on the profile that you first posted? Just re-do it and change the gamma from 1.8 to 2.2 (or vice versa) - its one of the last steps of the calibration process using the built-in tool.

It took me about 15 attempts to get the coloration in this calibration :p I'm gonna see if I can find a tool to modify ICC Profiles.

yeah the results were somewhat lackluster :(

Then I am not sure. The only thing I can suggest is open up the built-in calibration tool in System Prefs. and uncheck the "expert mode" then just follow the two steps (leave the white point at the native setting, but when it asks for gamma set it to 2.2, then upload that profile here. (So it is pretty much the default color profile, but with the gamma changed to be a bit darker).

I am using the original one you uploaded right now.

I tried doing that but it adjusted the gamma based on the factory profile :(

I wish there was an app for fine tuning ICC Color Profiles. I would love to bring the gamma to 2.2 on this exact profile... I've been trying peoples profiles for every MacBook display out there and I really like the way the darker gamma looks but nobody elses colors are matching on my screen the way mine does... grrrr

That is actually what I'd like if thats ok. I would like to try and use the default profile with a gamma if 2.2. The only thing that bugs me about the profile you posted is its just a tad light on certain things - the blues in Gmail, Google Reader for example, where I know they are suppose to be a bit darker. Besides that, everything else is good.

The default profile with a gamma of 2.2 looks nothing like the profile I posted though... it has a lot more blue to it.

Yeah, it may look better for other people though since we all have different screens. Is your screen glossy or matte - also the model numbers are for different screen manufactures. You should still upload the default w/ 2.2 gamma just for kicks.

try this... it might be little to heavy on the contrast...

You do realize that each profile looks different to everyone, right? No two displays are ever the same.

Well, one person said there was no blue tint with a profile on their screen and I tried their profile and there was no blue tint on mine as well. It could be accurate to a point.
