Figure I would share this...Just posted this same review on Amazon...
In the past, I've used the urethane based screen protectors on my Apple watch...the ones you spray, then apply, let dry and you are good to go. Those work well to prevent scratches but inventively, they will peel up from the corners. So seeing this dome glass protector, I gave it a try...
PROS:
- It's glass, so it feels good to the touch...
- Since it's glass, good protection from bumps and scrapes.
- Clarity is excellent with no lose in touch functionality.
- Still soon, but hopefully no worries with this coming loose over time.
CONS:
- This isn't true edge to edge. There is a gap around the entire edge of the screen...I can understand...it's glass, and it's thin...but an extra 1 or 2mm would make it perfect. This package includes a full watch protector as well, and it's like the protector is really designed to work with that...once on, then you don't have a gap...But I'm not a fan of the watch protector...you may be, so it may not be an issue...
- You have to make sure...that there is no dust at all on the watch, when you apply this. It's a good thing they give you two screens. The first one I put on, I ended up with two rather large bubbles, almost in the middle of the screen from dust. The problem is, you just can't remove it, remove the dust, then re-apply...That just introduces a ton of air bubbles...Sure, I can blame myself for this...All I'm saying is the application isn't as forgiving so take your time...The second one went on much better...I wish they would include three screens...So you can screw up one, get it right on the second, then have a third, for if that one breaks later...
- Once the second one was applied, at least for me, there was some noticeable air gaps along the right and bottom edge...I think from the liquid not making it to the full edge...not sure. Day to day, you won't notice...
- The application is a little involved but I would recommend watching the Apple watch specific install video on their YouTube channel. This video could be better though as they overlay text throughout that makes trying to watch the actual video annoying...
- You can buy a replacement kit, that does not include the UV light...but everything else...great...except the price of the replacement kit, at least here on Amazon is only $5 less than buying the full kit again...That seems a little odd...
All in all, it's good but not great...I want to see when summer comes, how waterproof the screen is, as far as keeping water from getting under the protector and the watch screen...
