I ordered from apple yesterday and it seems they wont charge my card until the phone ships. The activation fee is put on your first monthly bill I believe. As for the tax mine was 27 dollars its .07 on a dollar for me.. and I bought applecare

Alright thanks for the help. Do you know when the phone will ship so i no when ill be charged?

Most likely the 18th. I am sure it's not same day shipping, so if we're to receive on the 19th, I say they ship on the 18th

I reserved one for pick-up at an Apple Store (Black 32GB). They didn't charge me yet, I'll pay when I go there. There is a $18 activation fee, but I don't know if I pay it there and then, or if it goes on my AT&T bill.

I purchased one through Apple and they have already charged me, not sure if they'll reverse it then charge me when it ships, but when I last checked my statement yesterday the $422 was still deducted.

Also, the AT&T charges will be reflected on your AT&T bill, Apple won't charge you for that.

Your card will have a pending charge, which will go through when the iPhone ships.

Your activation and upgrade fees will be added to your next AT&T bill.

I hope I didnt F up by getting the 16gb.....what I currently have it and it's not half full.

Verizon Crackberry Storm user here.

Just pre-ordered the 32gig 3GS black one this morning.

It "finally" has everything I said I required before I'd buy one. Took 'em long enough, but I'm stoked.
