I have to compile a list of 50 photographers and examples of their work for a portion of my technical notebook in my photo class for this quarter.. So, I couldn't think of a better place to ask than here!

So, if you don't mind, could you all please share your favorite photographer(s), and your favorite photo of theirs?

Don McCullen
Diane Arbus
Glen E. Friedman

I don't have a favourite image by each of them. All their stuff is class.

Let's not forget The legendary Bill Atkinson.! I discovered that he is now into photography just a while ago and i find his work very impressive.

EDIT: i found this photo in his website, can anyone please tell me what kind of camera is he using?

2nd EDIT: Nevermind, i just found that under his pics it says "Hasselblad".

Galen Rowell. Really hard to choose a favorite image although his most famous is arguably "Rainbow over the Potala Palace" (in the Tibet and China gallery under Fine Art Prints).

Nevada Weir. Another wonderful adventure/travel photographer.

Art Wolfe. More known for his nature images but carries his craft over to travel as well.

This is my favourite photo of all time... it's by Inge Morath:

She has a lot of really good photographs, but nothing tops a llama, in a car, in New York city!

Scott Pommier
Vincent Laforet
and
probably Fred Miranda.
look em up. I'm really into their stuff right now.

Edward Weston, Alfred Stieglitz, Paul Strand, and all-time favorite who does with film what we all do with photoshop is Jerry Uelsmann.

But..., if you are in a photo class and you can't come up with some of your own I worry for you.

Top of the list must be Ansel Adams :) :)

Followed by:
Edward Weston, Paul Strand, Walker Evans, Dorothea Lange & Imogen Cunningham.

The obvious Ansel Adams for landscape. And being dutch I must mention
Anton Corbijn for his portraits. Miles Davis for example.
Oops, forgot Henri Cartier Bresson

Alexander Garcia. Photo 14 in his portraits section blows me away every time I see it. His images are spiritual, artistic, thoughtful, and natural.

As his intern, I'm also bit partial...
