:confused:Who created The Internet? I am wondring this because I am bored and my brother thinks it was Al Gore for some odd reason. If you know please post it. This person obviously doesn't get enough respect and credit does he?

DARPA and ARPA are not the same, but related- or so DARPA states.

DARPA It is a happy name for the CIAs funded research projects- or so I hear on AM raido. It is under the DOD, but I think that I am correct here.

This legacy of DARPA is here.]

I think what Al Gore said was he was instrumental in helping the Internet proliferate, and perhaps he was. I never saw him post here though.

Ok, the truth about the Al Gore statement. - Its a good article.

- Out of context it is a poor choice of words. In context (as found in this article) it makes sense.

Actually, the last two word of his statement were cutoff by the media. The full statement read "I took the initiative in creating the internet funding legislation." (I have a video cassette of the full interview. My grandfather is a BIG Gore supporter).

The problem with using the Internet for the "truth" is that it can be edited. I stand corrected. (Actually I am sitting.) I still think it’s a good article. It talks about he framing of his statements to mislead people. - But we digress.

Why didn't you a search engine to find the answer you wanted?

Without one man's vision to create the World Wide Web and browsers using the internet, the internet would still be stuck in the past.

I never thought that anybody really believed the joke or misquote of Al Gore. Then I visited some PC boards today.
They are having a field day(week) with Apples announcement that he is on the board.
