Mine's been down since about 9:00 am Pacific time and it couldn't come at a worse time.

I emailed myself a zip file with assignments in it that are due today. Can't get to it. Had my brother log onto my laptop at home and email it to my school mail.

The virus scanner screwed up the zip file and password protected/corrupted it. I'll have to ask for an extension. :(

Anyone else have no gmail today?

I don't use Gmail as my primary account, but the couple of times I have checked my account today, it's been down.

I think it's based on server location. I've had gmail for more than two years and the fulltime it's been under pretty heavy use and I have yet to have an issue.

Until today... ;)

That's interesting, because like WildCowboy, I'm in SF but I've been able to access gmail just fine.

I'd try to be as persistent as possible; I'm sure they'll clear it up soon.

Yeah, still down for me.

Server location not user location. ;)

I know what you meant, but WC and I are quite close from a geographic perspective (within the city itself, and not downtown where there is more computer density). I doubt there's a different gmail server that I'm using.

There could be something else going wrong, and it would probably provide us with a better explanation as to why different cities are having this problem (as in it isn't isolated to just a few areas, but is rather wide spread and sporadic).

I have not been receiving MR e-mails in over a day now yet I am getting regular e-mail. Im not on gmail though.

The gmail server you are on will depend on when you registered your account, not where you are.

My Gmail crashes once a week for the entire day so I'm used to it. I just forward my Gmail to my .Mac account.
