Apple really needs some new talent in their remote design department, It seems they have no clue about hitting buttons with muscle memory, both with the original design of the Siri Remote, and now with the new remote, moving the play button.
across both remotes, I probably miss 2-3% of button hits, for most remotes it's well under 1%, even my TV remote that I don't use that often, so haven't built up that muscle memory with it.
the mute button should be where the siri button was, and the play/pause button should have stayed in the same place
I got my remote last night about 8, and in a couple hours of watching, I probably muted it at least 5 times. Which is fun, because you hit the button, and it gets quiet, so you think it's stopped. Nope. it's just continuing to play silently, I got better as the night went on, but the first time, I got up to go the bathroom, only to come back, and have to re-find where I was.
and since I only upgraded one of my 2 aTVs. it's just going to make it more difficult to re-train myself.
it almost feels like a ploy to get you to update all your remotes.
