Damn right, we've had some excellent sun over here in the UK for the past few days.

What's even better is that I can use my laptop out in the garden whilst sunbathing! (never owned a laptop before)

What's even better than that(!) is how my laptop is White... And as such reflects most of the sun's heat decreasing the amount my computer absorbs, therefore lowering the chance of overheating. I touch the back of my computer (the bit with sunlight streaming onto) and it feels completely normal. I touch my brother's black laptop, and I can feel a definate heat increase.

Ahh Apple, once again you have made me happy.

While you have it out there in the nice sunshine, here's another cool tip. Usually you control the brightness by adjusting the internal backlighting control up and down. While you're outside, try and turn the brightness way down, adjust the view so the sun faces the screen and try frontlighting. This way, you should be able to see your screen properly and at the same time you can save battery life since the brightness is way down. -GDF

I do this all the time. You don't get much color, but the contrast is great and easy to see. You can practically get the same image either way.

What is frontlighting? Is it using the sun to light up your screen?
I always thought that makes it impossible to see...

The weather has been AMAZING hasnt it :D Today after my exam i came home and revised geography on my trampoline.
it was actually orgasmic XD

I love it, just got back from a stag do and we spent the whole weekend up in the Lake District, the mornings consisted of various outdoor activities (Quad-biking/Canyoning etc) and the afternoons were spent sitting on the patio chatting and catching some rays :D

Good times :)

Ohhh I need my Macbook now, I'm saving up for it, should get it in about a moth or so. Sadly If I sit in the sun with my iBook,

a) My iBook already gives off enough heat to cause a small hole in the ozone above my house that will not only make your Macbook hot, but probably melt it :D

b) The extension cable wont reach, and since my battery seems to have decided to stop suffering and give up on all life. I cant sit out anyway

and well... I don't like cooking in the sun,

So in other words I'm basically stuck until I get it :(
Oh and I'm new, so treat me nice ;)

Ah, you did Maths today by any chance? It was an alright exam IMO, no more maths ever again! Geography and English tomorrow though...... UGH..... All over in 8 days, 14 hours, 35 minutes! (If your last exam is Science GCSE that is ;P)

Ah that's a shame, you're missing out on some awesome sun! It really is lovely :)
And welcome to the forums!

I will love the freedom that my Macbook will bring me. I keep thinking of being outside in the summer evening/night. Leave the computer in for sunbatheing and just bring your iPod.
