Who else's machine running cooler?

Back when I'd play Modern Warfare on Lion my processor fan would be cranked full blast the whole time. Now it comes and goes, averaging about half of full when I'm playing. Haven't reduced any settings. If anything, I've increased the texture detail and my FPS took a small hit.

I attribute it to software efficiency upgrades. Anyone else notice better performance?

I find CPU usage between 10.7 - 10.10 to be about the same but the Mac does run cooler under CPU intensive tasks under Mavericks and Yosemite.
