Cydia has saved my iPhone's SHSH from 3.1->4.1. Why isn't it saving 4.2.1? I see that the dev-team will release a JB that will require 4.2b3 SHSH. Am i missing something? Cause i thought Cydia will save SHSH automatically once i choose "make my life easier". What's 4.2b3? Wouldn't it be 4.2.2 or 4.3,etc?

I have Beta 3 saved also.
I saved 4.2.1 also with TU and on cydias server but it just doesnt display it up there. Its probably already saved.
4.2.2 doesnt exist, just 4.2.1
The reason they saved 4.2b3 is because they were working on an untethered JB that would need those shsh's

how do you know if Cydia has them saved? When I open Cydia it says on the top: SHSH: iOS 4.0.1, 4.0.2., 4.1, 4.2b3

does that mean I'm good to go?

Yes.

I think they might be still signing 4.2b3, least they were about a week or two when I got my phone.

Is it normal that Cydia doesn't show up all the SHSH that it saved? Imagine my phone with 3.1 to 4.1.

What is Beta 3? Is it the developer version? Like the GM?

Cydia has them. It's not just not updated to show. If TinyUmbrella lists that you have 4.2.1 saved, and the 4.2.1 blobs are saved. Next time to you restore/update/jailbreak your iPhone 4.2.1 will be showing in Cydia.

I have 4.0.1, 4.0.2., 4.1, 4.2b3 blobs on Cydia. I pretty much thought everyone did (at least everyone who opted into the automatic retrieval and storage system for it).

Yes and yes. It's just a delay on Cydia's part. Like I said in my post above, if you saved them in TinyUmbrella then Cydia will have them.

no 4.2b3 shsh

I have the iphone4 with ios 4.2.1, I just tethered jailbreak it with redsn0w 0.9.6b4. Cydia only shows shsh 4.2.1 saved, I also tried the newest tinyUmbrella to save shsh, but only 4.2.1 is saved. Nothing I've tried will save 4.2b3 shsh. Help, how do I get 4.2b3 shsh?

4.2Beta 3 blobs were only available before the official 4.2.1 was out. Sounds like you didnt save them on time by the time Apple stopped releasing them.

Hey Applejuiced,

I checked with TU and it says that it saves from 3.1-4.2.1; however it says that the b3 wasn't saved.

Why is that?

Hey guys, probably the wrong place for it, but my ? is about 4.2b3.... Im trying to untether my ipad that came with 4.2.1 on it and tinyumbrella lists 4.2b3 in its list of my shsh blobs, but whenever i load the ipsw to finish off the install it keeps saying that my shsh thingy is not on cydia's server so im confused about what to do...

Why not try to use your local host rather than cydia if you have 4.2b3? Is there a untether JB tool out there uses 4.2b3?

You can't go have any blobs when Apple isn't signing it anymore. Are you a app dev?

Note: I was checking my gf's iPhone 3G. It has 4.0-4.2.1 blobs saved but not 4.2b3. I guess some 3G and 3G users are left out when Cydia saved the b3 blobs.

digging up an old thread, ive always stayed on 4.1 but during a recent restore i noticed i too have 4.2b3 in my list of saved shsh blobs in tiny umbrellla

what is 4.2b3?

It was a Developer beta for 4.2.3 some used it beta test RedSn0w for Musclenerd. Or those that couldn't wait for the next jailbreak. I don't think anybody is still using it.

Yes, they thought they might use them for monte so they thought it was a good idea to start saving the betas.
