Are these events by invitation only, or can you pay to enter?... What are the requirements if it is paid admittance?

Thanks in advance :D

i believe all the events are invitation only except WWDC. WWDC is paid by developers. If you make a developer account then you will access. Apple makes a buy your ticket page under the dev portal a few months in advance. then you can buy tickets but they are like 1500 or 1600 each I think. Somewhere around there.

WWDC is the only event you can pay to attend. All other events are for media only, except Gizmodo.

Now that's pricey!

Do you know if all developers can purchase these tickets, or is it only for those who pay $99 a year for full registration?

i believe it is open for any developer but don't quote me on that. also i looked up the price of the ticket and it was $1600.

WWDC is usually developers and press, anyone can get a ticket I think. Media events on the other hand I think are invited press, stockholders and special developers that sometimes demo apps, but you need an invite.

Awesome! Looks like I'll put that new MacBook Pro on hold and go to one of these events instead. :p

The thing to remember about WWDC is that the keynote is the single least important and least interesting thing there. The developers are paying for the week of in-depth technical sessions. Not for the keynote.

WWDC isn't just for the keynote that we all see. It's about 5 days of lectures, lessons and Q&A sessions with the very Apple engineers that write the SDK. I read a blog post from a developer who went this year, he said some crazy people start queuing for the main keynote at 4am!
